A BABY calf stuck in mud in Langport has been rescued by fire crews.
One engine from Somerton and a specialist resuce team from Bridgwater were sent to a ditch in North Street at 2.17pm after receiving a call from a member of the public.
On arrival, crews confirmed there was a calf stuck in a mud-filled ditch, and they got to work making attempts to secure the animal.
The telehandler from Clyst St George was also requested.
However crews were able to release the calf to safety without the use of the telehandler, and led it to safety.
