GROUPS and activities in the parish of Oake are set for a financial boost - thanks to a solar farm.
Applications are invited for grants of up to £2,000 from the Oake Sunshine Fund, set up after the establishment of the new Rendy Solar Farm.
People in the hamlets of Heathfield, Hillcommon, Hillfarrance and Oake should apply to Somerset Community Foundation by Friday, October 28.
Grants can be made to community and voluntary organisations, charities and social enterprises, but not individuals, with the awards decided in consultation with Oake Parish Council.
To apply, visit www.somersetcf.org.uk/oake or contact Andy Ridgewell on 01749-344949 or 07804-026142 or e-mail andrew.ridgewell@somersetcf.org.uk Somerset Community Foundation currently manages more than 70 funds for individuals, companies, trusts and public bodies.
Last year it distributed nearly £500,000 of grants to 233 local charities, voluntary groups and social enterprises in the county.
