A TAUNTON couple have been looking back on 50 years of marriage as their golden wedding anniversary approaches.

Diane and David Jones will have been married for half a century today (December 10), and will be celebrating their milestone with their friends and family.

The couple have lived in Somerset their whole lives and first met at the Corfe Youth Club.

But what is the key to their long, happy marriage?

Mrs Jones said: “I think the most important thing is having a good sense of humour. You’ve got to have a laugh together.

“Sharing is important, too. And talking, good communication is key.” The long-lasting pair have two sons and five grandchildren.

Mr Jones said: “We are really looking forward to celebrating with our lovely friends and family.

“We will be having a meal at Augustus in Taunton.

“Not everyone can say they have made it to 50 years.”
