ELOISE Gould is the new Miss Taunton, a role that also involves acting as Carnival Queen.
Eloise was selected from three finalists at the carnival committee’s annual charity presentation evening last Friday.
The other finalists were Emily Adams and Alexis Staple.
Eloise will lead the carnival procession in October, represent Taunton at other carnivals on the South Somerset Federation Circuit.
She will also be involved with the Taunton Marathon and Half Marathon in April and the Taunton 10k race in September.
To go with the title, Eloise won £200 in cash, hair styled by Toni & Guy, a manicure by nail technician Donna Jewell and a dress especially for carnival night, made and donated by And Sew To Knit.
The event was hosted by Somerset County Cricket Club in the Atkinson Pavilion, at the Cooper Associates County Ground.
