AFTER a six-week closure, one of Taunton's popular restaurant, bar and cafe has reopened after a full refit.

Brazz, which was first launched by Kit Chapman in 1998 has been reincarnated by Kit's daughter-in-law Annabel Chapman.

Annabel, wife of chairman Nick Chapman, has designed an innovative space with some exciting features including a four-tier chandelier carrying 33 lights, hanging from the dome over the restaurant.

In the bar there are encaustic floor tiles, a copper-topped bar and deep-booth seating to encourage party-goers.

Under multi-award-winning chef Liam Finnegan, the new menu continues to support food and drink producers from around Somerset.

All the old favourites continue to be served with the addition of some new dishes, including a variety of super-healthy salads.

The walls of Brazz pay homage to it's suppliers, featuring pictures of the provenance of the food offered on the menu.

New Brazz has appointed a new manager in Adam Lee, who began his career at the world-famous Raffles Hotel in Singapore.

His most recent posts have included the Michelin starred Hakkasan restaurant in London as well as Street XO by renowned Spanish chef, David Munoz.

“Adam possesses the very rare combination of extensive food and drinks knowledge with a friendly and relaxed style,” said managing director, Marc Mac Closkey.

“We are very excited about the transformation of Brazz into a vibrant, modern restaurant, bar and cafe and Adam will make the perfect host to welcome our guests and make them feel at home.”
