FORMER Somerset cricketer Rob Woodman admitted two motoring offences in court this week.

Woodman, 30, of Minster Close, Taunton, pleaded guilty to speeding and driving an unlicensed vehicle on another occasion at Taunton Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

He was fined £60 for travelling at 35mph in a 30mph zone on the A358 at Henlade in October last year, ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs and given three penalty points on his licence.

Woodman was also ordered to pay back £178.75 of back duty after being caught driving an unlicensed vehicle at Elkington, in Northamptonshire, in August last year.

He received a £125 fine with costs of £85 for that charge.

Woodman, a left-arm fast bowler and useful batsman who attended The Castle School and Richard Huish College, made his first class debut for Somerset in 2005.

He also appeared for England Under 19s and Somerset's derby rivals Gloucestershire, while turning out for Devon last season and locally has coached and played for Taunton Deane.
