WHAT are the chances of spotting yourself on Google Maps?

What about the chances of spotting yourself on Google Maps in the exact spot where you've just given your friend directions to come and pick you up?

Well, we haven't done the maths - but we're guessing it's fairly rare.

For one woman working in Taunton, that is exactly what happened.

Michele Noad, a consultant at Somerset County Council (SCC), was leaving work and heading to a friend's house in Wellington

Her friend Rick was on his way to collect her from County Hall, but wasn't sure of the directions. So he went onto Google Maps to plan his journey, only to find his friend on-screen, waiting in the exact place he was meant to collect her from.

Somerset County Gazette:

Mrs Noad's Facebook post.

Mrs Noad said: "I told him I'd be stood on the corner by B Block reception, so he Googled it and found where I was.

"When he arrived, he said I'd never guess what he found on the map, he had spotted me. We couldn't believe it."

Mrs Noad took to Facebook to describe what had happened.

She wrote: "Can you believe my friend Googled where to pick me up tonight. This is where he had to pick me up and I am in the image. Caught on camera by google map in Sept.

"The odds of this is more than million to one chance. Let alone being on the spot he had to pick me up at. Surreal."

Mrs Noad will soon be leaving her role at SCC, so her image being on the map is a nice parting gift.

"I know I am leaving soon, but everyone is saying how there will be a piece of me always stood outside county hall."
