DADS have the chance to come to the wild woods for exciting, fun and even dangerous activities with their children.

Just in time for the Easter holidays, the team at Neroche Woodlanders have organised the first session for Dads, Grandads and male carers to bring the children to Young Wood - located 10 minutes drive from the south side of Taunton.

The session will focus on fun and learning, with fire-making, den-building, tracking wildlife and there should be chances for everyone to get a bit muddy.

“Getting outside to play with our children is so important. We all have so many screens and devices that sometimes we forget how to play, so Dangerous Dads creates an exciting place to re-discover nature and above all, to have fun with like-minded kids and their Dads”, said Jenny Archard from Neroche Woodlanders.

The sessions are open to all Dads and male carers, and will encourage Dads to share their skills with each other and with other Dads.

Group leader Gavin Saunders added: “We’re keen to build this into a regular group that is lead by Dads, so that they can create activities that work for them.

"We’ve got plenty of fun ideas to start with and we’ll help people to share their own ideas as things grow”, says Gavin, one of the group leaders.

The first session is set for Thursday, April 13 at Young Wood, and costs £15 per Dad with children.
