DRUNKEN cricket fans decided to bring the Gazette's new litter campaign to the doorstep, and beyond, dumping half-full cans of cider, plastic cups, crisp packets and a copy of the The Cricket Paper through the letterbox overnight.
Having enjoyed an enthralling match between England and South Africa at the Cooper Associates County Ground yesterday evening, many fans continued partying in to the night around the town.

Gazette reporter Steven Salter said: "This really wasn't what I wanted to see when I unlocked the door and walked into our offices this morning, and the reception area now smells of cider.
"It is shame a very small minority of fans act stupidly and it dampens what was an otherwise excellent evening for the town.
"I thought cricket was supposed to be a gentlemen's game!"
