PEOPLE in Trull and Staplehay will have a greater say on where new homes are built in their community after its neighbourhood development plan came into force.

The plan has been adopted by Taunton Deane Borough Council and becomes part of the documents used by the Deane when making decisions on planning applications in the parish of Trull.

Mark Edwards, ward councillor and Deane deputy leader, said: “The work of the neighbourhood plan group has been exceptional. Their dedication and focus has resulted in a document that adds real value to local planning and I would like to thank everyone involved.”

Roger Habgood, Deane executive councillor for planning policy, said: “Neighbourhood plans are used when planning decisions need to be taken and shape development in Trull and Staplehay parish.

“They contain locally specific policies for the parish that provides detail on matters that are of particular importance to the community.

“Congratulations to all who were involved, supported and took an interest - the Trull Neighbourhood plan is now made.”

It is the second neighbourhood plan following Bishops Lydeard.
