CUSTOMERS shopping at Argos in Taunton could soon be able to get their cash from a machine in the wall outside the store.
Owners Sainsbury's is applying for planning permission to install a cashpoint machine in the wall outside the East Street store.
The firm wants to put the ATM on the right hand side of the main entrance to the store.
In its application to Taunton Deane Borough Council, senior planner
Beatrice Scott says: "It will provide an important banking service to customers visiting the store and those using surrounding shops and facilities.
"The ATM will be located in an area which is well lit, open and in full view of pedestrians aiding natural surveillance."
She adds: "The location, size and scale of the ATM is consistent with the remainder of the shopfront and will not have any adverse visual impact on the site or surrounding area.
"The facility is required to meet modern customer expectations and complements the retail offer. The proposed ATM will not harm the appearance."
