THERE was nothing to separate three teams who tied for first place in the Moonraker Challenge night-time walk on the Quantock Hills at the weekend.

A total of 340 walkers in 65 teams took on the 7.6-mile 'short' route or 15.8-mile longer trek on staggered starts within a given time, answering a quiz along the way.

Check points kept track of the teams and, with the assistance of RayNet radio amateurs, progress was sent back to the HQ control room.

The Moonraker Challenge, in its 31st year, is organised by Taunton Vale Rotary Club in aid of local and international charities, supported by Inner Wheel and supported by local businesses and the community.

An awards evening is being held at the Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton, on Monday, November 13.
