TAUNTON Carnival WILL go ahead this evening (Saturday).
There had been fears the event - one of the highlights in the town's calendar - could be cancelled due to Storm Brian.
But committee members decided not to call off the fun this evening.
Thousands of spectators are expected to line the pavements in and around the town centre when the event gets underway at 7pm.

And carnival committee members are selling official merchandise in High Street.
