MOTORISTS have been urged to avoid the Wellington Road area near Silk Mills Road after a water main burst.
Wessex Water have carried out emergency repairs to restore water to around 100 customers.
A lane closure has been put in place in order for the emergency repairs to take place.
A spokesman for Wessex Water said: "Emergency repairs are now being completed in Wellington Road and rush-hour motorists are advised to find alternative routes if possible.
"We are working hard to complete the repairs and apologise for the inconvenience and disruption. We thank customers affected by the burst for their patience and understanding."
Wessex Water have contacted affected customers to let them know their water may be discoloured for up to 24 hours.
