FOOTBALL fanatic toddlers are being given the chance to start perfecting their skills early as Little Kickers comes to town.

Little Kickers, a football course for children aged 18-months to seven-years-old, will be starting in Taunton in the New Year.

The first classes are on the Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Bishop's Hull Primary school.

Owner of the Little Kickers’ Taunton, Andy Larder, said: “Football is as popular in Somerset as anywhere, but what we are offering here is the chance for parents and guardians to come along and get their little ones involved at a very early age in a properly organised and controlled setting.

“All children who register will receive a full Little Kickers kit that will be theirs to keep, and wear during sessions so that they really feel part of the team."

Mr Larder has been involved with Little Kickers as his three-year-old son took part in the course in Bridgwater.

This has inspired to bring the opportunity to children in Taunton.

The sessions don't aim to discover the next best football player, but to encourage children to learn through play on different courses based on their age group.

Mr Larder added: “I have witnessed first hand how Little Kickers engages children and assists their personal development in many areas.

"The company motto ’play not push’ works on the basis that children are much more likely to learn if their imaginations are engaged and skills are introduced through games, rather than formal drills.

“The sessions are not about trying to unearth future superstars, but if we can set some promising and talented children on their way to something fruitful through Little Kickers, then we’ll be delighted to have played a small but worthwhile part.”
