TAUNTON women Julie Kimber and Courtney Curtis are off to Mexico to help build a house.
The two have no experience of the construction industry, but they will be mucking in to help a poor family's dream come true.
They are joining the Urban Saints' Rebuild Mexico project doing their bit to put up a wooden lodge for locals currently living in shanty homes in Tijuana.
Julie said: "We're flying over with a team of people, staying one night in San Diego, USA, before going over the border to Mexico.
"We'll spend six days there helping to build the wooden lodge in a very deprived area of Tijuana.
"We'll join a team of experienced builders out there. We'll be getting our hands dirty, banging in nails, carting bits of wood everywhere,"
Julie and Courtney have to find £3,400 to fund the trip and hope to raise the final £800 at a Mexican meal event, along with a bring and buy sale in St James Church Hall, Taunton, on Friday, February 2.
Tickets are £10 and are available from 01823-333311 or e-mail Kimberj@live.co.uk
