A WOMAN who commutes to Taunton has described the mess in a town centre car park akin to a “landfill site.”

Emma Alder, who works in Taunton and lives in Curry Rivel, has photographed the detritus left scattered over Whirligig Car Park.

The pictures show bottles, plastic bags, snack wrappers and even a mattress littered on the ground.

Somerset County Gazette:

She said: “A new landfill site in the heart of Taunton – it’s all over the car park.

“This is not a very good image for the county town and it’s right in the centre.”

Taunton Deane Borough Council has been contacted for a comment in relation to the mess.
