A FORAGER harvester was badly damaged in a fire that spread to a field.
Fire crews were called to the incident at Vellow Wood Lane, Stogumber, just before 1pm today (Wednesday).
On arrival, the officer in charge confirmed the forager was well alight and the field was partially ablaze.
Crew got to work with two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet.
The officer in charge requested the attendance of a groundhog and a water carrier.
The harvester forager fire was out by 1.40pm, when firefighters used beaters to put out the fire which covered about five acres of a field.
High winds hampered the operation and specialist appliances were sent to the scene.
The incident was scaled down by 3.20pm.
The forager was 60 per cent damaged and the field was also damaged.
