RECENT cases dealt with by Taunton Deane Magistrates’ Courts include: Donald Gordon Miller, 47, of no fixed address, shoplifting in Asda, three other offences admitted and taken into consideration, 42 days prison. (G).

Chloe Louise Griffiths, 18, of Mary Street, Taunton, handling stolen goods, £25 fine, £15 victim surcharge; shoplifting from Asda, £50 fine; shoplifting from Poundland, £25 fine; failed to surrender to bail, £25 fine; breached a conditional discharge, no action taken. (G).

Thomas James Payne, 18, of no fixed address, shoplifting from Debenhams, £50 fine, £15 victim surcharge, £35 costs; dishonestly made off without paying a taxi fare, £75 fine; two counts of breaching a conditional discharge, no action taken. (G).

Gerald Maurice Rossiter, 63, of Swifts, Langford Budville, produced cannabis plants, £100 fine, £60 costs, £15 victim surcharge; two counts of possession of cannabis, no separate penalty. (G).

Ian Birrell, 52, of Bicknells Bridge, Langport, fishing without a licence, £50 fine, £15 victim surcharge, £25 costs. (G).
