MISS Somerset hopeful, Beth Colquhoun, is bidding for your support to be crowned the county's beauty queen.
The Richard Huish College pupil, Taunton, has been selected as one of the 2010 finalists for the competition.
Beth, 18, who also works at Taunton's H Samuel and Debenham's head office, is hoping to win the title to secure a place in the Miss England semi-final. The winner of the Miss England title will be put forward to the finals of the Miss World competition.
She said: “I do quite a bit of photography and got involved in the competition when someone said I should send my picture into a modelling agency.
“I am hoping to raise a large amount of money for the Help For Heroes charity through holding events such as raffles and quiz nights and I am also hoping to run seven miles. I've raised £300 so far and I'm offering sponsored photo-shoots.
“I'm studying psychology, sociology and art and I'll decide what to do next depending on where this competition takes me. I want to go to Plymouth University eventually and maybe take a gap year.”
To vote, text '03 Beth' to 84205 or ring 09016561503. Votes cost 60p plus your standard network charge.
Lines are open and will remain open until 10pm on the night of the final, May 20.
