POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman was sexually assaulted in Monkton Heathfield.

The incident occurred on Saturday, July 24 at around 1.30am on the A3259.

The victim, who is 29, was approached by a man who sexually assaulted her and then made off in the direction of Bridgwater.

The offender is described as an older man with long grey hair wearing a balaclava and blue jeans.
