STUDENTS, parents, staff and governors at Kingsmead School welcomed Sheila Wheeler, Chief Executive of Somerset County Council as guest speaker at their celebration of achievement evening.
The evening marked the end of the school year for the Taunton School, where more than 300 students received gold, silver and bronze awards.
Year 9 student Rivers Gratton scooped the Excellent Progress in Music award.
The Wiveliscombe Book Club Awards went to Naomi Porter and Jess Foulkes, both in Year 10.
The Paul Cups were awarded to Year 10 students Kezia Mithcinson and Ollie Chamberlain for making outstanding contributions to school sport.
The night's entertainment was provided by Year 10 students Danielle Stacey-Evans and Ashley Way who sang songs by composer George Gershwin.
A song written and performed by Year 9 student James Smyth in aid of Help for Heroes was also performed.
