A MEMORIAL Christmas tree is to take centre stage at a Taunton funeral home on 1st December.

Paul Fudge, in The Mount, is providing the tree to help local people remember their loved ones during the festive season, which can often be an extremely painful time for the bereaved.

families and friends are being invited to visit the funeral home and decorate the tree with cards in memory of those close to them who have died.

If they wish, families may also leave a small donation to Wellington Stroke Club.

Des Hawkins at Paul Fudge said: “This is the third year we have offered a memorial tree in honour of those who have died, as it has always proved to be a great help for relatives and friends.

“We know that Christmas and New Year, in particular, is a time when people look back and remember those they’ve lost and we hope our memorial Christmas tree will again benefit the families concerned at this difficult time."

The Paul Fudge funeral home is open from 10am until 3pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday and people will be able to leave memorial cards on the tree up until December 23.
