PRIORSWOOD Community Centre received a cash boost of £500 following the opening of Tesco Express at the former site of the Gardeners Arms.

Centre manager Lesley Thomas was invited to cut the ribbon before receiving a cheque to put towards their summer activities.

And she said: “We would like to thank Tesco for this very generous donation. Our summer programme is open to all children from the north Taunton area and includes a host of activities from team sports, to music, games and crafts, all held at Lyngford Park throughout July and August.”

Store manager Claire Ramsay added: “We are delighted to be able to help Priorswood Community Centre with its summer youth project as they do fantastic work for the north Taunton community.”
