I did happen to listen to it, unlike some people who have commented here. i never heard any local news or info all i heard was heavy music with bad language, This is fine if you like that type of thing. Would that be acceptable on say the BBC or any other station. Yes i agree that there is a place for this type of content, But they cant say its right for mainstream radio, Can they? They had the chance to apply for a licence last year. They did not apply.
Do some research, oh may be you have?! licences cost a fortune and the newly awarded stations are going to find making ends meet a task. Plus also the licencing conditions in affect make radio bland which is why so many people don't bother to turn on the radio anymore. I was actually a regular listener to the Rage station unlike the above person who may be only listened once or twice. "All I ever heard was bad language and heavy music?! " What planet is he on? Sometimes it occured yes but at sensible times and anyway people had the choice to tune out, they weren't forced to listen. Not all radio has to be mainstream, alot people really appreciated something different!!! And yes they did do local information i.e weather, local event mentions, music nights and quite alot more. My mate has some tape recordings. 'freewyke' has a bee in his bonnet about Rage and the fact he's taken time to comment twice and try to smear them shows he has some sort campaign. And oh funnily enough after a little digging, the name freewyke traces back to a certain someone in one of the up and coming community radio stations for Taunton. Next time get your facts right."

A RADIO station operated from a house in Cheddon Road, Taunton has been closed down.

Rage FM, which broadcast on 100.6fm, was raided by Ofcom officials last week.

Equipment was confiscated, but no arrests were made.

After the raid a station listener told the County Gazette: “A lot of people in the street I’ve spoken to are shocked and surprised.

“They thought the station sounded professional and would regularly air local information, and it had a very alternative music format not provided by other stations.
