POLICE have put out a warning to car owners in Wellington after a spate of part thefts.

There have been four incidents in the town in the past month, including the theft of three catalytic converters.

Sgt Helen Boyd said the platinum from the parts were valuable and a target for thieves.

Usually such converters are found on higher priced cars - or those of boy racers...
Anyone else would probably not have platinum in theirs as standard.
