A FORMER couple who caused the death of a 13-year-old cyclist have today (July 24) been jailed.
Leonard Jones admitted causing the death of Amy Hofmeister after the car he was driving ploughed into her on Blackbrook Way, Taunton, just over a year ago.
His girlfriend at the time, Leanne Burnell, who was racing Jones in another car, was found guilty of the same charge by a jury at a recent trial.
Jones has been jailed for seven years, while Burnell has been sentenced to 18 months.
