Drink coffee, eat cake and do your bit for Macmillan Cancer Support
A CANCER charity is appealing for 200 people in Taunton, Wellington and West Somerset to raise over £35,000... by drinking coffee and eating cake.
Macmillan Cancer Support wants people of all ages to embrace the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on September 28.
Fundraising manager for Somerset, Toby Fielder, said: “Last year we raised a record-breaking amount of money form the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and we really hope we can repeat that again this year.
“I think it’s a mark of how much people love this event that every year it gets bigger and bigger.”
Money raised is used to fund services such as the new Macmillan Benefits Advisors who are based at the Taunton Citizens Advice Bureau in Station Road.
Toby added: “Sadly the number of people being diagnosed with cancer is increasing every year and that means Macmillan’s support for people living with cancer is in more demand than ever."
