THE Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment (SURE) charity has been boosted by £877 this week.

Donations to the County Gazette-backed appeal to equip the Beacon Centre cancer unit at Taunton's Musgrove Park Hospital included £280 from Mrs Pollard, £250 from Miss R. Wilson, £70 from Mr Tomkies, £57 from Dr and Mrs Watson, £50 from John Simpson and £20 from Dr and Mrs Lane.

Cash from 5p coin collections included £99.45 from the Beacon Centre, £26 from Taunton Bowling Club, £20 from Arthur and Hazel and £5.35 from Pat and Patsy Potter.

A total of £297,295 has now been raised for SURE since its link up with the Gazette.
