DRIVING a classic Ford Cortina will make her a better driver hopes one proud motorist.

Melissa Alexander, 35, from Taunton , drives a Mk1 Ford Cortina 1500 Super despite it first hitting the roads nearly 50 years ago.

She said: “I learned to drive in a Ford Fiesta and took ages to pass my test so I thought driving something interesting like my Cortina would make me a better driver.”

A dozen Cortinas were on display at Taunton Ford in Priorswood Road at the weekend.

Some of the cars are nearly 50 years old but all of them have received a caring touch and looked in fabulous condition.
