Deane DLO 10k - Luke makes it five wins running

LUKE Scott shook off a virus to win today's Deane DLO 10k road race for the fifth consecutive year.

Luke clocked 32 minutes 18 seconds - two seconds slower than last year.

He was 32 seconds ahead of his training partner, Rowan Preece, 17, who ran the course for the first time.

First woman home was Jaine Swift in 38 minutes 5 seconds, just 13 seconds behind her husband, Simon.

Around 650 runners took part in the race, which started and finished at the Blackbrook Pavilion.

Thousands of pounds were raised for charity.

Among groups raising money for good causes were Paula Cannings, friends and family, who were supporting a breast cancer charity, and a team raising money for a wheelchair for Michelle Dogget, who suffered a brain stem stroke.
