YOUNG Martha Askew got a shock when she least expected it at school.
The primary school pupil won a Christmas card competition held by Jeremy Browne... and the MP dropped by to announce the six-year-old as the winner.
Jeremy said: “It was lovely to surprise Martha. I went to tell her she was the winner and gave her a prize.”
Martha’s winning design was of a brightly-coloured Christmas tree which stood out due to its colourful and festive fun design.
She beat off competition from children aged four to 11 at schools across the area and her design will now be made into a card and sent out to dignitaries and other MP’s.
Jeremy added: “Martha’s design will be well known by the end of the Christmas period.”
