PROMISING rugby player Joe Lewis, of Wellington School, has been called up to the England Under 16 squad.

The selection comes after the winger played his part in the South West region's 43-24 victory over the North at Coventry and is the first Wellingtonian to achieve this since the 1980s.

He said: “I am so proud to be in the squad, but I know that there is still a lot of hard work to be done.

"We have to work really hard in training sessions, we also get really well looked after, it is a dream come true.”
