A WOMAN has been charged following an alleged dispute between two parents at Wiveliscombe Primary School.

Police were called to the school following an incident which head teacher Tony Halstead says started outside the school grounds but carried on into the building.

An arrest was made and Sakinah Hamed, 30, of Wiveliscombe, was charged with drink-driving, driving while disqualified, driving without insurance and using threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour that could provoke violence.

Ms Hamed was released on bail and is set to appear at Taunton Deane Magistrates’ Court on April 4.

In a letter to parents, Mr Halstead said a ‘small number of children and parents’ witnessed the incident.

It said: “This morning (Monday, March 10) the police were called to the school following an incident with a parent. The incident started outside the school grounds but unfortunately carried on into the building and was witnessed by a small number of children and parents.

“I am writing to reassure you that at no time were any of the children in any danger and that the police arrived promptly to deal with the situation.”

Mr Halstead, when contacted by the County Gazette, reiterated that the incident involved no member of staff or pupil.
