JULY’S Welliestock festival has a rich mix of genres spanning reggae and rock to samba and swing for Wellington’s music magpies next month.

Inspired in name by New York State’s iconic Woodstock festival in 1969, Wellington’s talent is teaming and tuning up to deliver what is hoped is the first in a long line of Welliestocks.

Headlining acts are electronic band FILTA, Crow Dawn, the Blue Room Baboons, Jon Maybey and Ryan Hawkings, with loads more acts also billed for the 12-hour festival.

Music aside, visitors can see the spectacle of a large Volkswagen Show and Shine, craft and food stalls, family activities, bouncy castles, and a classic car and sports car show.

Welliestock runs from 11am to 11pm on Saturday, July 5, at Wellington School and tickets cost £5 from Mad Dog and Cloud 9 in Wellington with entry to the music marquee free to under-16s – visit www.welliestock.com
