WELLINGTON welcomed its annual carnival to town with lots of fluorescent and fun designs on display throughout the evening.
The crowds were warmed up at the weekend with musical performances by Filta and the Wellington Silver Band before suited up Volkswagen vehicles and motorcycles roared through the town.
Colourful, flashing floats soon followed and a variety of schools, performance groups and community projects were all involved as well as an appearance from Miss Junior Wellington, Izzy Finucane-Fenn, Miss Wellington, Amber Forward, and Miss Junior Wellington Attendant, Heidi Oaten.
Wellington Mayor David Mitton said: “It was a really good day and lots of people enjoyed the event. We had a different theme this year with the Volkswagens and motorbikes. It was nice to see all the floats on display; in particular the walking floats.”
