ABOUT 100 people attended a public meeting on Tuesday to discuss plans for a major housing development on the south side of Wellington.
The meeting, at Wellesley Park Primary School, was organised by the Save Wellington Action Group, which is protesting against plans for 650 homes on the Jurston Farm site.
The group says the town’s infrastructure will not cope with a major proposed development at Jurston Farm, and has been leafleting and campaigning on the issue.
A spokesman for Save Wellington said: “We’re delighted with the turn-out and the support we’ve received.
“We’ll be meeting again next week to talk about how we can take the campaign forward from here.
A full report on the group’s latest plans will feature in next Thursday's County Gazette.
