A CROWD of over 600 packed into Athletic Ground in Corams Lane, Wellington, for the annual Boxing Day rugby clash between Wellington and Wiveliscombe.
On a wet and windy afternoon, Wellington triumphed 19-7 over their local rivals – see The Big Match on page 61 for a full report.
Wellington captain Robin Trott said the atmosphere made the game very special.
He said: “That’s the biggest crowd of the season by a long way and the atmosphere was fantastic.
“There’s a lot of history between the two clubs and in this fixture, so it’s always special to play in.”
