A 20-YEAR-OLD man from Wellington has been arrested in connection with a robbery at Oake Manor Golf Club.
The man was also arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon, and has been released on bail.
The arrest is the second connected to an incident on December 14. Police were called at about 7.30pm following reports of a masked man armed with a crowbar having ordered a member of staff to open the safe before escaping towards Wellington.
A police spokesman said: “A large sum of money and number of cheques were taken whilst staff were preparing to close the clubhouse, but they were later recovered from an abandoned car following a pursuit.”
