A WELLINGTON School pupil has performed outstandingly in a National competition.
Year 13 student James Caple entered the Oxford German Olympiad, a national competition open to students of all ages. He was awarded a runner-up prize in the newspaper review category and will be presented with it at a ceremony in the Bodleian Library in Oxford in June.
His task was to write an imaginary newspaper review of a concert featuring a German band.
He wrote a piece in German about the band 'Kraftwerk', highlighting the evocative nature of a concert.
He described in detail the concert atmosphere and the performance, melody, beat and musical intonation of individual songs.
The competition attracts hundreds of entries in each category and is run by the Oxford German Network.
