ORGANISERS of the 10 Parishes Festival are celebrating after another successful event.

The final weekend of the Festival saw sell out concerts at the Raddington Festival of Music, whilst over 900 visitors were recorded at one of the artist venues, the Bear Inn in Wiveliscombe.

Festival director, Pauline Homeshaw, said: “Yet again we have had the support of the artistic community in and around Wiveliscombe and have been able to show locals and visitors the talent that we have on our doorstep.

"The street market and carnival procession in Wiveliscombe was a particular highlight with record crowds enjoying the last of the summer sunshine.

“The atmosphere at Raddington church where there is no electricity and just candlelight was extraordinary and uniquely memorable.

"It is community partners such as the team at Raddington that add such breadth and creativity to the festival as a whole.”

The festival of art and performance first took place in 2003 and is now a major biennial event in the area bringing important business and recognition to the area.
