STUDENTS who left Wiveliscombe's Kingsmead School in the summer after achieving the best ever GCSE results were back last Thursday.
They were joined by parents, staff and governors for the Big Reunion presentation evening of academic and sporting awards.
The 240 guests were treated to Year 8 twins Reece and Olly Hale singing Ed Sheeran's Lego House, while guest speaker Alice Bartholomew, a former Kingsmead student and currently a primary school teacher in Nortn Fitzwarren, spoke about her school memories.
Sammie Magee was awarded the Flook Cup for best all-rounder and Isaac Orszag-Land won the Peace Cup for outstanding language learning and achievement of A* grades in German and Spanish.
Somerset Youth and Community Service development officer Jeff Brown presented Duke of Edinburgh certificates to the 11 students who achieved a bronze award.
Ross Porter, leader of student support for the year group, said: “It was lovely to see the students together again to celebrate their successes and hear how they are progressing in their further education.”
