A POWERCUT in Wellington earlier today saw over 1,200 homes left without power.
A spokesperon for Western Power Distribution said that at around 12.10pm, overhead lines came down which caused 1,287 homes in the area to be left without any power.
Power has since been restored to 815 homes, and crews are on the scene dealing the problem and restoring power to homes as they go along.
It was estimated that power would be restored to all homes by 3.30pm but Western Power Distribution says power has now been restored.
