THE widow of former Wellington School headmaster James Stredder has died.
Kitty Stredder, whose husband led the schools from 1957 to 1973, was 105 at the time of her death on Thursday, April 7.
Her funeral takes place tomorrow (Tuesday, April 19) at St Mary's Church, Ponteland, near Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
Her daughter Diana said: "Mum died peacefully.
"She had had a wonderful life, was lucid right to the end and maintained her sense of humour throughout.
"The Wellington years were some of her happiest and we often talked of them."
As well as her daughter, Mrs Stredder leaves two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
