TWO people trapped following a car crash had to be rescued by firefighters near Wellington.
Firefighters from Wellington and Taunton attended the scene of a two car crash at Ivy Cross, Thorne St Margaret near Wellington just before 7pm on Friday night.
A spokesman from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "Upon their arrival crews discovered one vehicle on its side with two people still inside that were medically rather than physically trapped.
"As the Fire Service were the first on scene the crew got to work stabilising and making the vehicle safe so that a paramedic could gain access to it to assess the condition of the casualties."
The driver was uninjured and the passenger had mild injuries. The passenger was extricated from the vehicle on a spinal board via the boot of the car after the crew had cut the passenger seat and removed the back seats using a socket set. The casualty was then conveyed to hospital via ambulance.
