TENNIS coach Andrew Disney is on his way to Wimbldeon after winning tickets at Wiveliscombe Tennis Club's open day on Sunday.

A sizeable crowd turned out for the annual event at the town's recreation ground, with action on all three courts throughout a sunny April morning.

The ballot for Wimbledon tickets caused the only pause in play, with Andrew among the lucky winners.

He was less lucky in his recent 12-hour marathon session alongside Noel Binding, but an ankle injury after three hours did not prevent him completing the ordeal in biting cold conditions.

The pair raised £543 for Sports Relief, including £90 from their mini-marathon curtainraiser in Wiveliscombe Square on the previous Saturday.
