THERE’S good news for Wellington residents as a popular pub will reopen today.
The Green Dragon closed last August much to the dismay of drinkers and skittles teams.
But Jamie and Beccy Holmes have been taken on as managers of the pub.
The pair formerly worked as stewards for the Wellington Conservative Club for over six years, but are now taking on the new challenge.
The pub on South Street is owned by the Chapman Group.
It will have a bar, restaurant, meeting room and 13 en suite bedrooms.
The Champman Group has spent £475,000 on refurbishing the venue to get it up to modern standards.
In mid-July Weatherspoons is due to open a new pub in the old town hall.
The company is spending £2.3million refurbishing the venue and is hoping to create around 50 jobs.
