BUSINESS confidence in the area is soaring, according to Taunton-based developer Summerfield.

The firm has seen 11 out of 14 units of a block under construction at Westpark 26 business park at Chelston, Wellington, reserved off-plan.

The high level of enquiries for Block A follows on from the success of Westpark 26’s recently completed Block 2, where all five units have been sold or let.

Ben Trickey, divisional director at Summerfield, said: “Each new development at Westpark 26 has attracted strong enquiries with most blocks selling out in a matter of months.

"With construction work now underway, Block A is already more than three-quarters taken and we expect the remaining units to be snapped up.

“Businesses in the region have an increasing need and appetite to expand or update their premises and Westpark 26 offers the ideal package of a strategic location, on-site amenities and versatile and flexible accommodation.

“The business park is just off Junction 26 of the M5 and close to Taunton and Wellington and offers everything from office space to industrial units and large bespoke bases for highly specialist companies.

“Westpark 26 has rapidly become a thriving hub for the region’s business community and the units at Block A, which are due for practical completion around November, further strengthen our offering.”

Companies that have recently taken space at the rapidly growing business park include cheese and dairy exporter Somerdale International, which recently won a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade.

Other recent occupants incluide powered access machinery and training specialist Prolift Access and WJ Group, which handles specialist road marking services across the region.
