A SUMMER tea party is being organised by a Wellington business to raise money for charity.

The party will take place at The Emporium Somerset on July 7 with strawberries and cream available in return for a donation to the Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment (S.U.R.E) – Beacon Centre.

Cato Cooper, co-owner of The Emporium Somerset, said: “We’re really looking forward to our summer tea party, and hope lots of people come along for some great Brit- ish strawberries and cream and stay for a browse of the shop and to meet lots of our traders.

“We’d like to say a big thank you to Runnington Fruit Farm for the donation of strawberries for the event, we’ll be serving them up with cream in return for a donation to S.U.R.E.”

Cato has her own painted furniture and home accessories studio and workshop at the front of the Emporium.

The shop includes 40 plus shops and thousands of lovely homeware and gift items, many made nearby.

Cato will also be doing chalk paint demonstrations from 5pm onwards.

Nicola Cavanagh, owner of The Flower Tree, which has a unit in The Emporium Somerset, will be hosting summer wreath making demon- strations.

The start from 5pm with an emphasis on foliage and flowers from the garden so people can have a go at making their own at home.

During the event there will also be a pop-up café for people to purchase food and drink.

The traders’ units within the shop will be decorated for the party and many of the traders will be in attendance and chatting to anyone interested in their work or products.

“The support of people across Somerset enables us to ensure the Beacon Centre continues to provide top class cancer diagnosis and treatment.”

S.U.R.E is a registered, independent charity based in Taunton.

Its objective is to raise funds to help provide top class cancer diagnosis and treatment at the Cancer Centre known as the Beacon Centre at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton.

The summer tea party will take place from 4.30pm until 8pm.
