PLANS to build over 500 homes and a Northern Relief Road in Wellington have been approved.

Taunton Deane Council’s planning committee last night (July 18) gave the go-ahead for proposals to build 503 homes at Longforth Farm and part of the eagerly-awaited relief road.

The proposals also include plans for a primary school, sports pitches, a children's play area and allotments.

Work is expected to begin later this year with developers Bloor Homes keen to push on with the development.
